ASPACE Nominated for Best Ad Technology at MIXX Awards 2026

ASPACE has been nominated for Best Ad Technology at MIXX Awards 2026, the Swedish advertising industry’s most recognised annual awards hosted by IAB Sweden. The nomination recognises ASPACE Vision™, our proprietary AI-powered 3D sensor technology, along with its Realtime Accurate Contacts (RAC) metric and Privacy by Design approach to audience measurement in physical media.

The category, Best Ad Technology, is awarded to solutions that demonstrate clear innovation in concept and execution, measurable impact and genuine relevance to the future of the advertising industry. For ASPACE, the nomination reflects years of focused development at the intersection of attention measurement, outdoor advertising and privacy alignment data infrastructure.

A measurement gap physical media can no longer afford to ignore

For decades, out-of-home advertising has operated on an assumption: that proximity to a screen equals exposure. That a person walking past a billboard has seen it. That footfall in a retail environment translates to brand contact. These assumptions have served the industry as useful proxies but they are proxies nonetheless.

As digital media continues to raise the bar for campaign accountability, the gap between what OOH and DOOH can verify and what advertisers increasingly demand has become impossible to ignore. Brands and agencies allocating budgets across channels expect the same rigour from physical media that they’ve come to expect from programmatic display or social. They want to know not just that an ad was shown but whether it was seen, by how many people, for how long and whether the placement actually performed.

This is the problem ASPACE was built to solve.

What ASPACE Vision™ actually does

At the core of ASPACE’s technology is ASPACE Vision™, a real-time sensor technology using 3D depth sensors to measure audience behaviour in physical environments. Deployed at digital screens in out-of-home and in-store Retail Media settings, it captures anonymised, aggregated data on how people actually interact with advertising: whether they stop, how long they look and how many unique individuals a campaign reaches.

Crucially, our sensors never identify individuals. No facial recognition. No personal data. No biometrics. The measurement is entirely Privacy by design, built for alignment with GDPR, the EU AI Act and evolving global privacy standards.

The output feeds directly into FACIT, ASPACE’s proprietary analytics platform, giving advertisers and media owners access to verified campaign metrics, including RAC (Realtime Accurate Contacts), a KPI that expresses the volume of genuine, verified audience attention a placement delivers. Where traditional OOH reporting might count impressions based on estimated passerby traffic, RAC is grounded in observed behaviour.

Why the nomination matters and why now

The timing of this recognition is significant. Attention has become one of the most discussed concepts in media planning, yet the majority of attention measurement tools were built for digital environments, for pixels on screens connected to the internet, where user behaviour can be tracked, modelled and reported with relative ease.

Physical media, which still accounts for a substantial share of brand-building investment globally, has largely been left behind in this conversation, despite representing real, high-quality moments of audience contact in premium public and retail environments.

ASPACE’s nomination at MIXX Awards 2026 puts verified attention measurement for physical media firmly on the industry agenda. It signals that the tools needed to make OOH and in-store Retail Media as accountable as digital now exist and that Swedish adtech is playing a leading role in developing them.

For the broader advertising industry, that matters. Privacy legislation is tightening across markets, cookie deprecation has reshaped digital attribution and brands are under growing pressure to demonstrate that media investment delivers measurable results. Measurement infrastructure that is both rigorous and privacy aligned is not just commercially valuable, it is strategically essential.

Building for the industry, not just the campaign

What sets ASPACE apart is not just the technology itself, but the intent behind it. The company’s focus has been on creating measurement standards that are transparent, reproducible and useful to the entire ecosystem, agencies, media owners, brands and retail partners alike.

The MIXX Awards nomination reflects that ambition. It is a recognition not only of a product, but of an approach: that physical media deserves the same quality of measurement infrastructure as digital and that building it in a Privacy by Design way is not a constraint, it is a competitive advantage.

Douglas Lagercrantz, Founder & CEO of ASPACE

”Being nominated in the Best Ad Technology category at the MIXX Awards is especially meaningful to us. It validates our belief that physical media needs its own purpose-built measurement layer, designed with Privacy by Design at its core. With ASPACE Vision, this is now becoming possible. By enabling real-time, verifiable measurement in physical environments, we bring greater accountability, transparency and comparability to a historically hard-to-measure channel. This unlocks real business value through better decision-making, more accurate valuation and more data-driven media strategies.”
